Android / iOS / macOS

English
These terms apply to everyone who uses Nostrism ("the App"). Please agree to these terms before using the App. If you do not agree, you may not use the App.
1. About the App
- The App is a client for the decentralized Nostr protocol. Posts and other content are created by users and are stored and published on the relays (servers) each user chooses.
- The developer has no server that manages your account, and cannot control the Nostr network as a whole.
- These terms apply to all versions of the App, including the Android, iOS, macOS and web versions.
2. Prohibited content and conduct
You may not post or send the following content, or engage in the following conduct. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.
- Content that is illegal or encourages crime
- Child sexual abuse and exploitation (see our Child Safety Standards)
- Harassment, threats, stalking or bullying of others
- Discrimination or hate based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability or similar grounds
- Content that glorifies or incites violence, or encourages self-harm or suicide
- Sexual content shared without consent, or exposing other people's personal information
- Spam, scams, or links to malware
- Impersonating other people or organizations
- Content that infringes copyrights or other rights of others
3. Reporting and blocking
In the Android, iOS and macOS versions, you can:
- Report: Report objectionable posts from the "⋯" menu on each post, and report users from the "⋯" menu on their profile.
- Block: Block abusive users from the "⋯" menu on their posts or profile. Their posts, notifications and direct messages are hidden right away. The block is saved in your public mute list (NIP-51), so they and others can see it; if the relays can't be reached, the App keeps it on your device and saves it once they can. You can undo a block from "Mute & block" in your icon menu.
- Mute: To hide someone without them knowing, use "Mute" in the same "⋯" menu. Mutes are saved in your private mute list and no report is sent. You can switch between mute and block in "Mute & block".
- Notifying the developer: Reports and blocks are sent as Nostr reports (NIP-56) to your relays and to the relay operated by the developer (
relay-jp.shino3.net), so that they reach the developer. If one can't be delivered, the App sends it again later.
- Reports are public: A report is a public Nostr event. Reports from the "⋯" menu and reports for blocks are sent to your relays and to the developer's relay.
4. How reports are handled
- The developer reviews reports.
- If the content violates these terms, the developer acts within what it controls, for example by removing the content from the developer's relay.
- Other relays are run by third parties. Removing content from the whole network requires action by each relay operator.
- Where required by law, such as in child-safety matters, the developer reports to the relevant authorities.
5. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for your posts and conduct.
- You manage your own private key (nsec). If you lose it, your account cannot be recovered. If it leaks, others may use your account.
6. Disclaimer
- The App is provided as is. The developer makes no warranty that the App, relays or third-party services will remain available, be accurate, or be fit for a particular purpose.
- To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not responsible for content posted by other users or for disputes between users.
7. If you got the App from the App Store
These terms apply in addition to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
8. Changes to these terms
These terms may change. For important changes, the App will ask you to agree again. When the terms change, the "Last updated" date on this page is updated.
